What sets us apart from other Heat Pump installation companies

Showcasing Our Engineering Expertise

Why one team, one system, one point of contact. The thing that sets this installation apart isn't any single component it's the integration. Every element was designed to work with every other element, from day one. The solar array was sized around the heat pump's demand profile. The battery was specified around the mismatch between generation and consumption. The heat pump controls were configured to draw from battery before grid, and from grid only at off-peak rates. That kind of integration only happens when one team is responsible for the whole system. It doesn't happen when three separate contractors install three separate technologies and leave the homeowner to work out why they're not talking to each other. The Big Heat Pump Company designs, supplies, and installs the complete system. One specification. One installation team. One warranty conversation if anything ever needs attention. For a client investing at this level, that matters. M&E Consultancy from the Installers of all the renewables your home needs. If that sounds like your situation, we'd welcome a conversation. We don't do generic assessments or online quote tools. We start with a proper understanding of your property, your energy profile, and what you're trying to achieve and we design from there.‍

OCHSNER heat pumps: the engine at the heart of the system. The heating system is built around OCHSNER heat pumps the same Austrian-engineered technology that powers our flagship installations across England and Wales, and the only heat pump brand we specify for projects where performance, reliability, and longevity are non-negotiable. OCHSNER has been manufacturing heat pumps since 1978, exclusively in Austria, with compressors tested to 60,000 run hours. For a large country house with high heat demand and owners who expect decades of reliable performance, that engineering pedigree matters enormously. On this installation, the OCHSNER system provides full space heating, domestic hot water, and active cooling drawing from the solar array and battery wherever possible, and operating with the intelligent OCHSNER TRONIC Smart controller, which can be integrated with Smart Grid tariffs to ensure the system always runs at the lowest possible cost.

One system. Zero compromise. How a country house is becoming its own power station.Ground-mounted solar. Battery storage.OCHSNER heat pumps. When a discerning homeowner asked us to future-proof their property entirely, we designed a fully integrated energy system from the ground up literally. Why most renewable installations fall shortIf you own a large country house, you've probably had the conversation more than once. Solar panels on the roof. A heat pump instead of the oil boiler. Perhaps a battery. Good intentions, sound logic but more often than not, each element is specified and installed in isolation, by different contractors, with different warranties, different apps, and no joined-up thinking about how they work together. The result is a property that is greener on paper but no simpler to live in. And almost certainly not performing anywhere near its potential. This project was different from he outset. Our client didn't want a collection of technologies bolted together. They wanted a single, coherent energy system designed, installed, and commissioned by one team, with one point of accountability. That's exactly what The Big Heat Pump Company delivered.

Silent luxury heating in the heart of Kensington. A five-storey Chelsea townhouse. A gas boiler replaced without compromise. Two OCHSNER Air Hawk 518 units delivering heating, cooling, and hot water at near-silent operation. The client, a discerning homeowner in one of Kensington's most sought-after garden squares came to The Big Heat Pump Company with a clear brief: replace an ageing gas boiler system without any loss of comfort, aesthetics, or peace and quiet. With close neighbours, a mature garden, and planning sensitivities typical of prime Central London, noise and visual impact were non-negotiable constraints from the outset."We wanted the best possible system, one that would be invisible in every sense. No noise, no visual disruption, and no compromise on warmth or efficiency."Homeowner, Kensington

FutureBuild 2026: A Different Kind of ShowIf you've never been toFutureBuild, it's hard to explain quite what it feels like to walk the floor. This year was particularly special for the first time, FutureBuild co-located with UK Construction Week London, creating what the organisers rightly called the UK's Built Environment Super Event. Over three days from 12–14 May at ExCeL London's Royal Docks, the energy was extraordinary. This wasn't an event about selling products. It was an event about solving problems. Every conversation we had with architects, M&E engineers, developers, housing associations, self-builders, and sustainability consultants was focused on one central challenge: how do we decarbonise the buildings we already have, and how do we make sure the buildings we're creating now don't contribute to the problem? That question sits at the heart of everything we do at The Big Heat Pump Conmpany. And OCHSNER heat pumps engineered to a standard that most of the industry isn't even attempting are a significant part of the answer."The conversations at FutureBuild 2026 weren't about whether heat pumps are the answer. They were about which heat pumps are worth specifying and that's exactly where OCHSNER wins every time."
